You may have already received this news in an earlier email from CMSa2, but in case you haven’t heard: TOMORROW, Friday, 12/2 is a special event that you are all invited to attend:
Jazz Night with Paul Keller at the Zal Gaz Grotto, including CMSa2 Jazz Students

Admission: $10 at the door, 18 and under FREE

Tomorrow’s Jazz Night especially of interest to Youth Ensemble Students, because Paul Keller will be CMSa2’s 2017 Artist – In – Residence! This year, we are proud to announce that Paul Keller and his At Sundown Quintet will be our 2017 Artists-in-Residence working with both CMSa2 Youth Ensembles students and Jazz Studies students from March 14th-22nd.
Mark your calendars for the exciting side-by-side concerts:
- Sunday, March 19th, 5:00: Youth Ensembles collaborative concert with The Paul Keller at Sundown Quintet
- Wed, March 22nd, 7:00: Jazz Studies collaborative concert with Paul Keller
This Friday starting at 7:00, Paul Keller and friends will be indulging the community in a special Jazz Night with:
- String bassist Paul Keller
- Vocalist/clarinetist Sarah D’Angelo
- Vibraphonist Cary Kocher
- Our very own trumpet instructor, Paul Finkbeiner
- And a CMSa2 Jazz Combo will be highlighted in between sets!
Come and enjoy a variety of swinging material including songs from James P. Johnson, Rodgers and Hart, Thelonious Monk, Horace Silver, and Pixinguina and other nifty arrangements and original tunes from each of the band members!
***Food and drinks are offered at the venue, along with free parking.
If you have items to donate to the Holiday Food and Clothing Drive, there will be a box at the Jazz Night at the Zal Gaz Grotto on 12/2 AND at our Youth Ensembles Winter Concert on 12/10. (But NOT at the rehearsal on 12/5, please bring any donations to the concert instead!)
